Blue Note Crossroads

Blue Note’s Crossroads Straight Bourbon Whiskey was recently honored with third place in the Best of Show 2025 category at the 14th annual Denver International Spirits Competition (DISC). One of the most prestigious competitions in the world, DISC grows by double digits each year, accepting spirits in more than 125 categories that are then judged double-blind by certified specialists and exacting connoisseurs.

Crossroads’ success is thanks to the brand’s careful practice of finishing in not one, but two types of French oak staves. Though a higher-proof bourbon, Crossroads sips as though it is a much lower one for a thoroughly pleasant drinking experience. The nose of red currant and cranberry is followed by a rich palate of warm baking spice, Manuka honey, roasted almond, and vanilla.

Boosma Cloosterbitter

With Chartreuse becoming more and more difficult to acquire, other herbal spirits are quickly regaining popularity. Boomsma Cloosterbitter was recently recognized by Punch magazine as a worthy alternative to Chartreuse, but this Dutch herbal liqueur, with roots dating back to the 1400s, more than stands on its own merits.

Like Chartreuse, Boomsma Cloosterbitter was originally crafted by the monks of the Claerkamp Monastery, who crafted their herbal spirit from a unique blend of 16 herbs, botanicals, and spices from the Frisian meadows of Holland, including a rare variety of wormwood.

G’Vine Florisone and Nouaison Gins

Forbes recently released its list of the world’s best gins, and both G’Vine Florisone and G’Vine Nouaison made the cut. These unique gins are crafted by Maison Villevert in the Cognac region of France from a grape distillate base instead of the typical grain base used by most other gins.

Florisone is crafted from 10 whole-fruit botanicals, including the rare vine flower. These botanicals work in harmony with the vine flower’s subtle floral essence to create a gin that is light and aromatic.

By contrast, Nouaison showcases a bolder, spicier side of gin. It was designed to enhance classic gin cocktails, like the martini, with new levels of depth and herbal complexity. This gin features 14 botanicals, with juniper taking a stronger lead, followed by warming spices like nutmeg, ginger, and sandalwood, delivering smooth richness with a subtle, lingering heat.
