Sean Minor Wines, founded in 2005, was built on a simple concept – great wine should be enjoyable, approachable, and affordable without compromising quality.
When Sean Minor started his namesake wine brand, he drew on his own experience working at such respected wineries as Beaulieu Vineyard in Napa Valley, King Estate Winery, Benton-Lane Winery, and Renwood Winery. Through his work with those esteemed vintners, he spotted an opportunity to bring thoughtful, terroir-focused wines to more people at accessible price points.
Longstanding relationships with well-regarded growers across California and Oregon give Sean Minor Wines access to some of the most prized grapes from a variety of growing regions, enabling the winery to produce high-quality wines that are a great value to the consumer. Production has grown to over 150,000 cases annually, and Sean Minor’s daughter, Elle, now serves as the winery’s production manager and winemaker.
Sean Minor – 4B – California Series
Sauvignon Blanc
90 points “Best Buy” Wine Enthusiast & 92 points The Tasting Room
This Sauvignon Blanc opens with a bright and refreshing medley of kiwi, green apple, grapefruit, peach, and melon aromas. It has a crisp and juicy character balanced by lively acidity and textured mouthfeel. Whole-cluster pressing helps reduce astringency, while a combination of neutral French oak and stainless steel fermentation highlights the wine’s clean, fresh fruit profile.
Pair this wine with pan-seared scallops, roasted lemon-herb chicken, grilled shrimp, and fresh Caprese salads.
Chardonnay
90 points “Best Buy” Wine Enthusiast & 91 points James Suckling
An expressive Chardonnay that showcases crisp layers of pear, apple, and white peach with undertones of grilled pineapple and sweet vanilla bean. Gentle acidity and delicate mineral nuances work together to create a well-rounded palate with a lengthy finish. The tropical notes and complex aromas are the result of a slow, cool fermentation period that helped preserve the wine’s fresh fruit character.
Pair this wine with grilled halibut, crab cakes, butternut squash ravioli, and creamy risottos.
Pinot Noir
90 points James Suckling
Aromas of ripe plum, fragrant violet, and cocoa powder set the stage for rich flavors of dark cherry and strawberry. Throughout the mid-palate, earthy and floral nuances emerge and are complemented by hints of cedar and oak. The grapes are sourced from California’s Central Coast and North Coast, and the resulting wine is aged for 8-10 months in French oak, emphasizing the ripe fruit flavors and understated complexity.
Pair this wine with rosemary lamb chops, balsamic-glazed pork tenderloin, braised beef ragu, and aged cheddar.
