Vintegrity is thrilled to welcome a new addition to its Kansas and Missouri portfolios – Calle 23 Tequila!

Sophie Decobecq – founder and master distiller of Calle 23.
From the highlands of Jalisco on the southwest coast of Mexico comes the exciting small-batch tequila brand, Calle 23! The founder and master distiller, Sophie Decobecq, moved to Mexico from France for her work in biochemistry and engineering. During her travels to distilleries throughout Mexico studying yeasts and lactic bacteria, she fell in love with tequila culture. Curiosity led her to begin distilling her own tequila as a hobby, and her passion for agave grew, leading to much more!
Since its introduction in 2003, Calle 23 has received high praise across the board from tequila critics, as well as taste-making and trend-tracking pubs, including Forbes, GQ, Decanter, and Difford’s Guide. Calle 23 tequila is crafted from mature agaves sourced from Altos de Jalisco. Decobecq takes a quality-driven, environmentally conscious approach to production, utilizing three different strains of native agave yeast that she isolated and developed herself. The result? Tequilas that have been named among the top 10 in the world numerous times since 2013.
Meet the Calle 23 Tequilas!
The Aromatic – Blanco
Calle 23’s Blanco is a medium-body tequila that rests for six months in stainless steel, allowing the spirit to fully open up. There are warm notes of cooked agave with hints of citrus and herbs on the nose, and the soft palate is filled with character. The full agave essence is balanced by flavors of pear and Granny Smith apple, followed by a slightly citrusy, slightly spicy finish. Blanco was awarded a Double Gold medal by the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2021, as well as the ‘Chairman’s Trophy’ (#1) from the Ultimate Spirits Challenge.
The Balanced – Reposado
Reposado is double distilled and rested for eight months in American oak used barrels, making it elegantly layered and perfectly poised. It is delightfully light with a distinct hint of woodiness blended with cooked agave notes. The oak cask brings out the tequila’s spicy profile, yet it remains smooth with notes of roasted peppers and fresh figs. Reposado made the Top 10 List from the 50 Best Bars Awards from 2013–2020.
The Solid – Añejo
The Calle 23 Añejo—Spanish for “aged”—receives double the aging time as its Reposado counterpart, allowing it to develop a deeper, more layered profile over 16 months. This extended maturation gives the tequila rich oak aromas that intertwine with inviting notes of vanilla and coffee. On the palate, bold flavors of cracked coffee and subtle tobacco unfold in perfect harmony, making for a smooth, full-bodied sipping experience.
The Unexpected – Blanco ‘Criollo’
Blanco Criollo is an innovative tequila made from the small Criollo blue agave, a variety known for its high sugar content. This unaged, double-distilled tequila has a very distinctive character and long, lingering finish. On the nose, fresh agave notes mingle with those of orange, mint, cinnamon, and green pepper, while the palate is bursting with flavors of cooked agave, dried fruit, black pepper, mint, and citrus.
The Astonishing – Single Barrel #43
Calle 23 released this rare batch of Single Barrel #43—only five barrels!—in 2023. Aged for 28 months, this añejo is a medium amber hue that hints at the depth and richness within. On the nose, it opens with bright herbaceous notes of cooked agave and ripe guava, delicately layered with light caramel and earthy undertones. The palate is silky and smooth, unfolding gracefully with grassy notes and a lingering, peppery dry finish for a final touch of complexity.
Calle 23 Tequilas are now available to order through Vintegrity in Missouri and Kansas!
