Cristie Kerr personifies the power of women throughout the wine industry. The accomplished golfer, breast cancer spokesperson and benefactor, and wine aficionado, has truly made a name for herself both on and off the green.

Professional Golfer – Breast Cancer Activist

Born in Miami, Kerr began playing golf around nine years old. Becoming a professional golfer right out of high school was a mark of not only her talent but of her determination and drive. With 20 wins on the LPGA tour and two major championships, Kerr has truly worked hard for where she is today.

In support for Kerr’s mother, Linda, and also an aunt, and godmother who battled breast cancer, Kerr was inspired to become a breast cancer activist. In 2003 – the same year her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer – Kerr founded her not-for-profit Birdies for Breast Cancer foundation. Through the foundation she donates $50 for each birdie she makes, holds an annual charity event and has inspired countless donations from others. Since its inception, the foundation has went on to raise millions to promote breast cancer awareness and assist in the fight against the disease.

Cristie Kerr – Winery Founder

In 2008 Kerr combined her love for wine and her passion as a breast cancer support advocate by working with Suzanne Pride of Pride Mountain Vineyards of Napa to create Curvature, a premium label to fund Breast Cancer research, releasing a 2006 vintage cabernet sauvignon. Not only do the proceeds from this line benefit breast cancer programs, the wines themselves have received a number of honors over the years including being served at the White House at an Affairs of State dinner.

Kerr launched a second line – Kerr Cellars – along with winemaker Helen Kiplinger first releasing a 2013 vintage. This line was named a “Winery to Watch” in the November 2016 issue of Wine Spectator. The label now produces pinot noir and red and white Bordeaux blends.

Both wineries are part of the Cristie Kerr Wines portfolio and are produced by some of the most renowned vineyards in Sonoma and Napa Valley – a part of the country where Kerr first developed her love for wines while on the LPGA tour.
