Yéyo Tequila
Yéyo Tequila is a collaboration between founder Jon Bullinger, distillery owner Sergio Vivanco, and master distiller Sergio Cruz who, through a lengthy process of crafting and tasting, created Yéyo. Each batch is produced from single-estate, 100% Blue Weber agave, slowly roasted to perfection and fermented with champagne yeast for a bright, consistent bright flavor. The fermentation process takes place as classical music plays for 190 hours, infusing the air itself with care and tradition that finds its way into the finished spirit.
Yéyo offers both Blanco and high-proof Blanco tequilas, as well as Blanco-Reposado blends that are enhanced by aging in either ex-cider or ex-wine casks.
Tapatio
Tapatio is one of the tequila world’s most respected traditional brands. For over 18 years, Tapatio has produced authentic tequila through time-honored methods, including the slow cooking of hand-harvested agave and a reliance on natural fermentation only. The distillery, La Alteña, sold its first bottle of Tapatio in 1941 under the direction of the famous Don Felipe Camarena. La Alteña is still owned by the Camarena family, who continue to uphold its commitment to quality over quantity.
Lagrimas Tequila
Lagrimas is a unique tequila brand in that its purpose is to highlight the unique terroir of its tequilas. Each vintage comes from a single estate, an approach that allows the brand to showcase the complexity that can be achieved with Blue Weber agave. The brand partners with the Rosales family of Cascahuin to produce its tequilas. Lagrimas’ newest release, El Sabino Plata 2023, is crafted from agave harvested from a high-elevation ranch near the UNESCO site Teuchitlan. This tequila is defined by a buttery mouthfeel and aromas of fresh mint, lemon tea, eucalyptus, and citrus, with flavors of oregano, cooked agave, and fresh herbs.
Mezcal Vago
Mezcal Vago, located in Oaxaca, celebrates and elevates not only mezcal but the craftsmen who make it. Each mezcal produced by Mezcal Vago sports a specifically colored label to identify which mezcalero produced it. The labels, themselves made from agave fibers, list the full production details of the mezcal, a commitment to transparency that tells customers exactly how and where their mezcal was made and ensures the authenticity in every bottle.
Agave de Cortes
Agave de Cortes stands out as one of the rare 100% Oaxacan-owned mezcal producers, a true testament to the region’s rich cultural and artisanal heritage. Currently operated by the sixth generation of the Cortes family, one of Oaxaca’s oldest and most respected mezcal-producing clans, the brand’s legacy dates back centuries. The mezcal is made from Espadin agave that is hand-harvested from the valley floors of Valles Centrales. What sets Agave de Cortes apart is the family’s unwavering commitment to traditional, non-mechanized production methods, passed down through generations.
